We had a great Digital Learning Day. Digital Learning Day gives the students and the teachers the opportunity to try something new and innovative in technology that they have never tried before. We used QR Codes and "Kahoot". QR codes are codes that the students scan using their i-pads. Once the code is scanned, it gives any information the teacher chooses in a lesson or practice. We used QR Codes in our math stations to practice place value. The students scanned the code and it gave a place value problem they had to solve and record on their recording sheet. They loved it!
We used the website Kahoot in math as well. Kahoot allows the teacher to make quizes, discussion questions and multiple choice questions and the students answer them from their i-pads. Their names are visible on the smart board when they log in and it tracks who has answered the questions and who is left. It also shows who is in 1st place for correct answers. We played "Kahoot" to practice math fact fluency. Everyone was so excited, you could hear us all the way down the hall! We will use both of these technology tools in our class on a regular basis.
