๐Ÿ“š Assessments, Fall Fair, Pumpkin Math and Halloween Oh My!

We have had a very busy week as you can see!  Pictured below is a silly photo of the kiddos after winning the pumpkin contest at fall fair!  We won cotton candy, Halloween pencils and spider rings.  We were all thrilled!  Mrs. Collins needs a huge shout out for making our pumpkin into the Lorax.  First grade all did a Dr. Seuss theme and we chose the Lorax because we love that book.  In addition to all the fun, we finished our math and reading assessments.  I cannot believe it is the end of first quarter already.  It has just flown by.  If you have not checked out your child's SeeSaw account, please do so.  They have their rock study findings and pumpkin math day journals and the number of seeds, how much it weighed, how big around and tall the pumpkins were.  They recorded their information in their journal and then shared it on seesaw.
In math this week, we played some missing addenda games using candy corn.  The fun part of course was getting to eat the answers!  We also wrote stories about scarecrows and put together bats made from tantrums. We always have to get some math into the mix.  School is so much fun!
